Hive Rental & Pollination

Hive Rental Programs***

Want to learn more about bees and beekeeping and possibly have a hive of your own? We have two options to introduce bees to your property; you can choose to either Host-a-Hive or Rent-to-Own your very own hive. Either option allows you to make an impact on the declining honey bee populations while enjoying the benefits of having bees in your own yard!

Host a Hive – Standard Hive Rental Program

Designed for the small gardener, this program allows you to enjoy all the benefits of having bees, pollination of plants, increased fruit and vegetable production, and a longer more profuse flowering season all while learning about the life of the honeybee. Once we evaluate your needs and surrounding, our trained beekeepers will place the colony and all of the needed equipment to your location. While the beekeepers maintain the hives, they also offer the opportunity to educate you on how bees work, the life cycle and seasonal needs or the hive, and if you’re lucky, some of the sweet reward of the being a bee steward.   If you want to discuss further, call for more details.

Rent-to-own

Our rent-to-own process allows you to try beekeeping as you are learning to navigate the intricacies of working the hive.  You have the option to work beside a trained beekeeper to find the best location, place the equipment, and work to establish the hive. During the rental process, one of our trained beekeepers will maintain the hive and teach you how to manage the hive as you move forward.  A’s Bees & Co provides all hive equipment and the bees which you will be renting.  While there is additional personal protective equipment you can borrow, you will need to purchase your own as you continue to work with the colony.  If you have dreamed of becoming a beekeeper, this may be the option for you. Call to schedule an appointment to further discuss.

Pollination Services – From time to time we may offer pollination services – call for details

***The health and wellness of our bees is the utmost concern therefore, work with our patrons to ensure the hives are placed in a safe environment that promotes the longevity of healthy hives.  There is no guarantee that the hive will produce a surplus of honey as beekeeping today involves many issues that cannot guarantee  success.
